Abstract
This article is devoted to the study of the features of educational migration in the context of improving the higher education system of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It was revealed that educational migration, in contrast to migration to permanent residence, has distinctive features. It was identified positive and negative trends in educational migration. It is shown that timely measures taken by the state can reduce the "brain drain".
