Abstract
The article discusses the features of the election of rural akims in Kazakhstan, provides their characteristics, defines the legal regulation of the nomination and election of candidates. The author also highlights a number of features of the classical models of local self-government, on the basis of which an attempt is made to characterize the specifics of the Kazakh model of rural management.
