Abstract
The article analyzes the current state of the state policy on the payment of targeted social assistance (TSA) to the population of Kazakhstan. The author identified the key approaches that underlie the modern implementation of the model of payments through the TSA, as well as the methodology for calculating its size. Key trends in the field of TSA payments have been identified, such as a sharp increase in the number of TSA recipients since 2019, as well as a persisting disproportion in the number of TSA recipients by region. The article identifies the reasons for the trends and their possible consequences.
