Abstract

The article explores the specific features of the functioning of the local self-government system in the Republic of Kazakhstan. It examines successful foreign practices in the field of local self-government with the aim of adapting and implementing them within the contemporary context of Kazakhstan. Strategic imperatives for improving the state of local self-government in the Republic of Kazakhstan have been formulated. Special attention is given to issues of transparency in political processes, democratization, and the strengthening of the principles of the “Listening State”. The article also considers the potential of digitalization as a tool for enhancing the openness and accountability of local self-government bodies. The importance of transparency and justice in the process of decentralization and in strengthening trust between the state and civil society is emphasized. During the preparation of this article, the authors used artificial intelligence (AI) tools solely for stylistic editing of the text and translation of the abstracts. All research work, empirical data collection, comparative analysis, and the formulation of conclusions were conducted independently by the authors.
