Abstract
Structural shifts in the economy and industry of Kazakhstan, aimed at increasing the share of progressive industries and reducing the raw material component, have been a priority of the country's economic policy for many years. At the same time, the implementation of this policy in terms of modernization and diversification of the industrial production structure is hampered by the advanced development of the oil sector, as well as by the factor of changes in world oil prices. The article attempts to assess the impact of the oil factor on structural changes in the industry of Kazakhstan.
